<title>無線ネットワークに接続する</title>

<p>ワイヤレス接続に対応したコンピューターをお使いの場合、近くのワイヤレスネットワークへ接続してインターネットにアクセスしたり、ネットワーク上の共有ファイルを閲覧したりすることができます。</p>

    <p>Open the <gui xref="shell-introduction#yourname">system menu</gui> from the right
    side of the top bar.</p>

    <p>Select
    <gui><media its:translate="no" type="image" mime="image/svg" src="figures/network-wireless-signal-excellent-symbolic.svg" width="16" height="16"/>
      Wi-Fi Not Connected</gui>. The Wi-Fi section of the menu will expand.</p>

    <p>Click <gui>Select Network</gui>.</p>
  </item>
  <item>
    <p>Click the name of the network you want, then click
    <gui>Connect</gui>.</p>
    <p>If the name of the network is not in the list, try clicking
    <gui>More</gui> to see if the network is further down the list. If you 
    still do not see the network, you may be out of range, or the network
    <link xref="net-wireless-hidden">might be hidden</link>.</p>

    <p>ネットワークがパスワード (<link xref="net-wireless-wepwpa">暗号鍵</link>) で保護されている場合には、入力を求められた時にそのパスワードを入力してから<gui>接続</gui>をクリックします。</p>
    <p>If you do not know the key, it may be written on the underside of the
    wireless router or base station, or in its instruction manual, or you may
    have to ask the person who administers the wireless network.</p>

    <p>コンピューターによりネットワークへの接続が試みられると、ネットワークアイコンが変化します。</p>

    <p>If the connection is successful, the icon will change to a dot with
    several curved bars above it
    (<media its:translate="no" type="image" mime="image/svg" src="figures/network-wireless-signal-excellent-symbolic.svg" width="16" height="16"/>). More bars
    indicate a stronger connection to the network. Fewer bars mean the
    connection is weaker and might not be very reliable.</p>

  <p>接続に失敗した場合、パスワードの再入力を求められる、または単に接続が切断された旨のメッセージが表示されます。このような場合いくつかの原因があります。たとえば、間違ったパスワードを入力した、ワイヤレス信号が弱すぎる、コンピューターのワイヤレスカードに問題があるなどです。ヘルプについては <link xref="net-wireless-troubleshooting"/> をご覧ください。</p>

  <p>ワイヤレスネットワークへの接続強度が高いからと言ってインターネット接続速度が必ずしも高速となるわけではなく、またダウンロード速度が速くなるわけでもありません。無線接続により、コンピューターは<em>インターネット接続を提供するデバイス</em> (ルーターまたはモデムなど) に接続されますが、この 2 種類の接続は実際には異なるため別々の速度で実行されます。</p>
