<title>Conectar a unha VPN</title>

<p>Unha VPN (ou <em>Rede privada virtual</em>) é unha forma de conectarse a unha rede local empregando internet. Por exemplo, digamos que quere conectarse a unha rede local no seu lugar de traballo mentres está nun viaxe de negocios. Podería atopar unha conexión de rede en calquera lugar (como nun hotel) e conectarse á VPN do traballo. Sería como se estivera conectado diretamente  á rede do traballo, pero coa conexión de rede real sería mediante a conexión de internet do hotel. As conexións VPN normalmente están <em>cifradas</em> para evitar que outras persoas accedan á súa rede local conectándose sen iniciar unha sesión.</p>

<p>Hai varios tipos de VPN. Dependendo do tipo á que queira conectarse podería ter que instalar software adicional. Busque información da conexión do responsábel da VPN e vexa que <em>cliente de VPN</em> precisa. Logo, vaia ao aplicativo de instalación de software e busque polo paquete <app>NetworkManager</app> que funcione co seu VPN (se hai algún) e instáleo.</p>

 <p>Se non hai un paquete de NetworkManager para o seu tipo de VPN, probabelmente terá que descargar e instalar algún software cliente desde a empresa que fornece o software de VPN. Probabelmente teña que seguir instrucións para facela funcionar.</p>

<p>To set up the VPN connection:</p>

  <steps>
    <item>
      <p>Open the <gui xref="shell-introduction#activities">Activities</gui> overview and
      start typing <gui>Network</gui>.</p>
    </item>
    <item>
      <p>Click on <gui>Network</gui> to open the panel.</p>
    </item>
    <item>
      <p>At the bottom of the list on the left, click the <gui>+</gui> button
      to add a new connection.</p>
    </item>
    <item>
      <p>Choose <gui>VPN</gui> in the interface list.</p>
    </item>
    <item>
      <p>Choose which kind of VPN connection you have.</p>
    </item>
    <item>
      <p>Fill in the VPN connection details, then press <gui>Add</gui> once you
      are finished.</p>
    </item>
    <item>
      <p>When you have finished setting-up the VPN, open the
      <gui xref="shell-introduction#yourname">system menu</gui> from the right side of
      the top bar, click <gui>VPN off</gui> and select <gui>Connect</gui>. You
      may need to enter a password for the connection before it is established.
      Once the connection is made, you will see a lock shaped icon in the top
      bar.</p>

      <p>Hopefully you will successfully connect to the VPN. If not, you may
      need to double-check the VPN settings you entered. You can do this from
      the <gui>Network</gui> panel that you used to create the connection.
      Select the VPN connection from the list, then press the
<media its:translate="no" type="image" src="figures/emblem-system.png"><span its:translate="yes">settings</span></media> button to review the settings.</p>

      <p>To disconnect from the VPN, click the system menu on the top bar and
      click <gui>Turn Off</gui> under the name of your VPN connection.</p>
