<title>Mikä välityspalvelin on?</title>
<p><em>Välityspalvelin</em> suodattaa katsomasi verkkosivut. Se vastaanottaa pyynnön verkkoselaimeltasi, hakee verkkosivun sisällön ja ennalta määriteltyjä sääntöjä noudattaen päättää, mitä sisältöä lähetetään verkkoselaimellesi. Välityspalvelimet ovat yleisiä yritysmaailmassa ja julkisia langattomia yhteyksiä tarjoavissa palveluissa. Välityspalvelimen avulla on mahdollista rajoittaa, mitä verkkosivuja on mahdollista katsoa, vaatia kirjautumista käyttöä varten tai tehdä turvallisuustarkastuksia verkkosivujen sisällölle.</p>
